The Vice President of Strategic Brand Management is a high-ranking position within the agency that will help lead the company into and through the next phase of growth the business is experiencing. Job Description:

The VP of Strategic Brand Management is charged with developing new and managing key client relationships, as well as establishing strategic and exclusive partnerships within the entertainment industry. 


You will lead expansion into new business categories not represented by the agency including music industry company clients such as ACMs, booking agencies, management companies, record labels, and mid and top-tier artists. In addition, you will oversee our agency brand reputation and industry perception, research positioning, and reputation of all competitors in Nashville to see indications of differentiators and define whitespace to develop strategies to fill needs in the market to drive agency growth while guiding account personnel. 

Responsibilities Overview:

  • New Business Development, deliver pitches, proposals, and presentations alongside key players within the agency & CRM management 

  • Agency Growth

  • Oversee all aspects of your Key Clients online and offline with timely and flawless delivery within the applicable scope and budget.

  • Supervise subordinate staff

  • Collaborate with the leaders of other departments

  • Reputation and brand management

  • Lead overall agency perception

  • Help build an advisory board for the agency made up of strategic music industry partners. 

  • Define, manage, and own our business development process and customer support practices to ensure we are staying on brand and fostering retention of clientele and trust as well as revenue growth. 

  • Navigate music industry opportunities, as well as brands, and partners to gain an understanding of their unique company architectures and needs. 

  • Researching the positioning and reputation of all competitors in the industry beginning in Nashville to see indications of differentiators and define whitespace for agency growth. 

  • Expand new business categories including music industry companies, artists, non-profit, and exclusive strategic partnerships. 

  • Sign and develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress and performance with internal teams while analyzing the successful completion of short and long-term client goals

  • Strengthening client & partner agency relationships

  • Ensure we have the team and skills to meet and exceed client requirements and expectations you have sold through.

  • Determine the positioning of the agency vs what the company wants to achieve and develop a course of action and timeline to accomplish it. 

  • Build company and brand recognition as well as relationships within the industry across sectors and genres to boost business and consequently, the overall performance of the organization.

Experience and Skills:

  • You have experience managing both small and large accounts (from $100k-$4MM+)

  • You have a proven track record of growing client business and/or success in a sales position (Will be a plus if have personally brought in more than $1-3MM annually)

  • You understand how to discover customer requirements and needs and can build out suitable solutions to generate new business

  • You are a master negotiator and excel at building and levering relationships. 

  • You have extensive experience building and delivering pitches, proposals, and presentations along with side key players within the agency

  • You use and continually develop leadership skills

  • You have years of experience coordinating internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects

  • You can run effective team meetings, and growth meetings with different stakeholders to keep growth organization in rhythm and aligned to key activities

  • You have experience developing and using CRM and dashboards 

  • You can track project performance metrics and analyze the successful completion of short and long-term client goals

  • You can clearly define project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility to clients and the internal team

  • You have proven experience increasing quality in communication internally and with customer touchpoints, for a stronger brand and (ultimately) enhanced selling power

  • You effortlessly use a variety of data to gain insights and develop optimization recommendations across multiple parts of the customer journey to identify key growth and optimization opportunities. Internal as well. 

  • You understand how to use real-world reputation feedback, media monitoring, and social listening to construct a successful future for our brand

  • You have extensive experience managing day-to-day communications between the client and our team

  • You set clear deadlines, expectations, assign responsibilities, and monitor and summarize the progress of the project. 

  • You can prepare and understand reports to clearly communicate to upper management regarding the status of the project and goals. 

  • You can resolve client issues to maintain and strengthen customer trust

  • You are not just a supervisor but a leader. You set clear expectations and inspect those expectations regularly to ensure team growth, education, and better deliver on client goals and milestones. 

  • You can coordinate and advise account managers, supervisors, and executives

  • You can have experience conducting staff quarterly/annual reviews and progress. You can take those insights and build strategic paths forward for our team members

  • You understand and appreciate the scientific method and also know when to adapt to changes quickly

  • You visualize and clearly communicate complex data analysis for stakeholder key presentations

  • You have an acute attention to detail and never-ending curiosity to new ways to grow the brand

  • You are a relentless problem solver and will constantly be assessing and resolving both simple and complex challenges for both clients and your team

  • You are a strategic thinker, connecting the dots between data and financial results to create and advocate for your strategies to drive growth

  • You have a proactive approach and can juggle multiple responsibilities and excel under pressure

  • You have a deep understanding of Advertising, Communications, and Marketing within the entertainment landscape

  • Marketing or advertising agency experience is a plus

  • You understand reporting and analytics and can derive a solutions-based approach from those metrics. 

  • Advanced skills in Excel including pivot tables for tracking, reporting, and building solutions. 

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • 8-12 years of experience working within the music industry and agency space

  • An understanding of business strategy, business development, strategic partnerships, branding, go-to-market strategy, and marketing execution  

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Advanced degree a plus
