DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

About You:

You are both, left and right-brained. Creative and analytical. You have a deep understanding of all things digital communication, including social media, email and text marketing, strategy, ideation, execution, tracking, and reporting, with a specialty in creative digital communication. 

You are someone who can develop a highly effective digital communication strategy, implement it, and then track and analyze its progress using a wide range of meaningful data insights. 

Copywriting, creative thinking, creative marketing, creative communication, client growth, calls to action, open rates, engagement rates, web traffic, data sorting, and KPI tracking are your day-to-day responsibilities. 

You will use a diverse set of tools to analyze and optimize existing marketing communications and oversee the deployment of weekly digital campaigns from start to finish for our clients.

You’ll be responsible for helping dream up creative digital strategies for a few of our clients and overseeing the creative analysis of their performance to help our agency make better decisions, as well as running the day-to-day digital communications and social media for our clients.

About the Position:

Simply put, you own our client's digital communication outright.

We will depend on you to provide strategic and creative leadership in augmenting internal and external social media channels, email programs, specific campaigns, and newsletters. This includes audience segmentation and analysis, growth strategy, and promotion of email campaign best practices. You will work with the tech/dev and creative teams to implement scalable email campaigns and provide expert direction. 

 

It is pivotal that you are a balanced creative and data-driven decision-maker with a deep understanding of digital communication best practices to analyze current marketing programs and optimize performance. You track and report on all campaigns, including maintaining a calendar, establishing performance benchmarks and KPIs, and working cross-functionally to ensure proper logging, logic, and dashboards are in place. You deliver insights based on social media, email, and web traffic data to further grow audience and engagement while driving further enhancements and personalization of campaigns. You execute key operational tasks, from creative setup and HTML coding, to A/B testing, QA, deployment, tracking, reporting, and analytics.

Knowing and teaching best practices and trends across digital marketing outlets from on-boarding, goal setting, milestone and KPIs, objectives and initiatives, content and editorial calendars, prompt writing, monitoring, social listening, ensuring brand consistency, engagement, customer service, growth, and reporting all organic activities across platforms.

 

​You are the conductor, you build out the overall strategy alongside the project manager, work with the copywriting and creative teams to bring the vision to life, ​engage in relevant social discussion about the company, competitors, and/or industry, test and track what is working and adjust and communicate your needs to the team to ensure flawless execution again and again. ​

 

You effortlessly take a client's goals and break them down to milestones, with actionable steps, measure against those, keep the train on the tracks, and bring it into the station on time.


What You’ll Do:

  • Ability to find the story within the data. Not just the what, but the why.

  • Curate and write copywriting prompts driving the direction of the social accounts you oversee based on the brief, calendar, goals, metrics and KPIs (key performance indicators) we've uncovered and set. 

  • Experience developing email marketing campaigns including but not limited to strategy, HTML coding, and pushing tactics live into market

  • Look for opportunities to automate processes within campaigns and maintain email templates within the current email service provider

  • Administrate recurring newsletters and evergreen email marketing tactics

  • Consult with stakeholders to develop email strategies and drip campaigns

  • Define email list requirements and ensure emails are delivered on time to the right audiences

  • Comply with CAN-SPAM & CCPA guidelines and help govern email list recipients

  • Test campaigns, making sure they render properly within various mailbox providers

  • Monitor deliverability and help remediate blocks or IP issues

  • Track progress of campaigns and update stakeholders during meetings

  • Manage software updates and sender and delivery profiles

  • Maintain knowledge of plug-ins and other new features

  • Track, measure, and analyze all initiatives and report KPIs across all social media platforms and email marketing efforts.

  • Run Grayscale's internal social and email marketing initiatives as well as the clients you’ve been assigned. 

  • Monitor all daily posts for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linkedin, etc., while developing unique story angles and crafting a brilliant, engaging strategy that you can harness to write amazing headlines and copy for your specific accounts and that drives the creative team to deliver top-notch designs. 

  • Oversee and engage with all social media customer service, messages, DMs, comments, questions, shares, across multiple channels.

  • Help define social strategy; plan, craft, publish, monitor, and report on posts across social channels such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, Linkedin, Clubhouse, and more. 

  • Track weekly and report monthly on what is working and what is not based on the goals (ecommerce, engagement, growth, impression, reach, clicks, traffic, sales, and more). 

  • Use the goals we have set for the client to create KPIs and then track and work toward those micro goals to ensure success for the clients. Each month you are required to run a report to track against those metrics and will be held responsible for the success of each client's goals. 

  • Maintain brand consistency across all points of distribution.

  • Work directly with designers, project managers, and account executives within a dynamic team structure within your client accounts.

  • Consult regularly with the creative team to define (and redefine) social strategy in the rapidly shifting social space.

  • Identify new trends and products in social media, and test and advocate for change as needed

  • Communicate clearly weekly with the account executives and senior leadership to inform them of all pertinent details, status, metrics, percentage of goal completion, pivots in strategy, what is working and what is not, and what your plan is.

  • Research, identify, and engage with key influencers, bloggers, and content portals related to our key areas of focus

  • Drive consistent, relevant traffic and leads from our social network presence

  • Lead the development of content and editorial calendars 

  • Develop brand voice, response matrix, and engagement brand standards. 

  • Lead tagging, titling, and linking of all content

  • Develop ongoing actionable reporting based on mutually agreed upon client KPIs

  • Explore new ways to engage new and existing social networks to reach our prospects, fans, and customers

  • Launch influencer seeding strategies to support new products, brand campaigns, and other social media drivers

  • Listen and engage in relevant social discussion about our company, clients, competitors, and/or industry, whether that be with existing customers, prospects, industry experts, or brand-new audiences who don’t yet know us

  • Remain up to date on branded content regulations and restrictions

  • You showcase a mastery of industry best practices and the platforms we love, as well as be willing to learn and articulate the unique Grayscale point of view on each in client pitches. 

  • Gain Mailchimp, Facebook Blueprint, and Google Certifications as well as any pertinent platforms that provide education and training. 

  • Understanding of testing principles and a disciplined approach to testing

  • Drive consistent, relevant traffic and leads from the social network presence.
